His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, addressed nearly six thousand Dawoodi Bohras gathered in Raipur on Tuesday, 11th August, at the newly inaugurated Hasani Masjid at Amanak.
In his sermon, Syedna drew on the name of the city itself–noting that "rai", the small mustard seed in Gujarati, imparts valuable lessons in striving through humble and consistent efforts. Further describing the qualities of rice and iron, which are grown and produced in the region, Syedna emphasised the values of hard work, patience and steadfastness, and urged community members to pursue excellence in education and persevere in earning honest livelihoods.
Dawoodi Bohras from over 100 cities, towns and villages across the country gathered to hear His Holiness’s guidance on issues extending from religious life to the responsibilities individuals carry towards their families, professions, communities and wider society.
Syedna arrived in Raipur from Mumbai on Monday, 10 August. This is Syedna’s first visit to the city in a span of 10 years.
Raipur is home to around 400 Dawoodi Bohra families, many of whom have built businesses and professions across sectors including hardware, textiles and power tools. Community members also undertake social welfare activities in the city through food and nutrition as well as environmental programs.
