Project Rise Supports Hospitals in Rural Telangana

The Dawoodi Bohra community in Telangana distributed essential medical equipment to rural hospitals to augment Covid-19 care infrastructure in Mahabubabad and Eturunagaram. The medical equipment included semi-fowler beds, pulse oximeters and foetal monitors funded by the Dawoodi Bohra community’s global philanthropic initiative, Project Rise.

Mulugu District Collector Shri Krishna Aditya Mahbubabad, Collector and District Magistrate Sri V. P. Gautam alongside other local district officers expressed gratitude to members of the Bohra community for accepting their request to support rural hospitals.

Husain Irfan, the project coordinator said, ‘the Covid-19 pandemic has put enormous pressure on hospitals and healthcare infrastructure, particularly in vulnerable areas. We are happy to have supported local communities in these areas in such trying times.’ Our community leader, His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin guides us to extend a helping hand to the less fortunate,’ he added.

In addition to medical aid, Project Rise volunteers are also mobilising relief efforts in other parts of Telangana as well as India at large to ensure that food, water and other necessities reach those in need.
