During his recent visit to Sunel, His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, donated a digital sonography machine to the Government Ibrahim Community Hospital. This generous contribution will significantly enhance medical services for the local population, which sees an average of 500 to 550 patients daily in the outpatient department.
A programme was organised to mark the occasion and was attended by senior officials from Panchayat Samiti Sitakumari Bheel and Sarpanch Simakumari, representative of His Holiness in Sunel, along with other senior officials from the medical department and members of the Dawoodi Bohra community in Sunel.
Dr Sajid Khan, Chief Medical Health Officer of the Hospital, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Syedna for this donation, stating, “The new digital sonography machine will greatly enhance our ability to provide timely and accurate medical assessments and treatments, ultimately benefiting the health of our community.”
Khan further noted, “Our hospital serves several surrounding villages, including Hemra, Dhabla Kheenchi, Sirpoi, and Sangriya. The existing medical equipment at the hospital has become outdated, making this donation crucial for enhancing our diagnostic capabilities and patient care in the region.”
Highlighting Syedna’s contribution, Yusuf Lapat addressed the audience, stating, “This donation reflects Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin's commitment to enhancing healthcare access and quality in underserved areas. His leadership has inspired numerous philanthropic efforts aimed at uplifting communities through improved medical facilities and services.”
This donation is part of the Dawoodi Bohra community’s philanthropic endeavour, Project Rise, which aims to improve the lives of underserved individuals through programmes and interventions in five key areas: Nutrition, Water, Health & Hygiene, Education, and Environment.
Some of Syedna’s recent contributions to enhance healthcare facilities include the donation of a ventilator machine unit in Amravati, the upgrade of medical equipment in hospitals in Jaora and Kolhapur, an ENT examining machine in Rajkot, the installation of a hemodialysis machine in Gondal, Gujarat, and the provision of a C-Arm machine to a hospital in Bhinder, Rajasthan.
