Following the recent visit of His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin to towns and villages in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, Project Rise has supported four government institutions in Alirajpur, Bhabra, Ambua and Chhota Udepur with equipment to improve access to healthcare and education.

The support includes a sonography machine for the Urban Health Care Government Hospital in Chhota Udepur, medical equipment to support blood storage at Maharaja Surendra Singh Government Hospital in Alirajpur, and facilities for students at government schools in Bhabra and Ambua.

In Chhota Udepur, the sonography machine is expected to benefit around 2,500 patients. The district is mostly tribal, with more than 10 lakh people living across 894 villages. Healthcare accessibility has been a constant struggle, particularly for communities living in rural and tribal areas.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr Paul Vasava, Chief Medical Officer of the Government General Hospital, expressed his appreciation for the support.

“We are very thankful to Syedna Sahab for this much-needed gift. It will help handle emergencies faster by allowing our doctors to quickly identify internal injuries, severe stomach pains, and other urgent medical issues.”

In neighbouring Alirajpur, medical equipment to support blood storage is expected to support approximately 250 people at any given time.

Alirajpur is also majorly tribal and a hilly district consisting of 552 villages. Its geography and dispersed settlements make local government institutions a vital part of everyday public services.

In addition to these, two government schools also benefitted from the outreach. A water purifier and tank was installed at the Chandrashekhar Azad Adivasi Gramin Drushtihin Purvashan Kendra in Bhabra.

In Ambua, the Kartalay Pracharya school had a PA amplifier system added to its infrastructure. The amplifier will facilitate announcements and assembly routines to the benefit of more than 800 students studying there.

The initiatives are part of the Dawoodi Bohra community's ongoing efforts to support communities with a focus on working alongside existing public institutions and responding to practical needs.

Recent healthcare initiatives guided by His Holiness have included the provision of a ventilator machine unit in Amravati and upgraded medical equipment in Kolhapur, Maharashtra; an ENT examination machine in Rajkot and a hemodialysis machine in Gondal, Gujarat; and a C-Arm machine to a hospital in Bhinder, Rajasthan.

In each of these places, the support has boosted the support provided by local institutions and enabled local access, thereby reducing the need to travel long distances for basic services.
