The Government District Hospital in Narmadapuram (earlier Hoshangabad) has received a significant boost to its diagnostic capabilities with the donation of a high-precision Mindray Z50 Color Doppler Ultrasound Machine from the Dawoodi Bohra community. This contribution, a part of the community's global philanthropic initiative, Project Rise, aims to enhance healthcare infrastructure and improve access to vital diagnostic services in the region.
The donation was made by His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, who strongly believes in supporting institutions that serve the public good, particularly those healthcare centres dedicated to caring for the most vulnerable.
Equipped with both convex and linear probes, the newly provided Z50 machine will significantly improve the hospital’s imaging services. This enhancement will aid in a wider range of diagnoses and surgical procedures for which patients had to previously travel to Bhopal or seek out private hospitals. The Narmadapuram District Hospital serves between 200 and 300 patients daily, highlighting its critical role as a healthcare lifeline for the city and its neighbouring areas within the district.
Expressing his appreciation for this generous contribution, Dr. Dinesh Dehalwar, Chief Medical and Health Officer, said, “During Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Saheb’s visit to Narmadapuram, we requested him to help us upgrade our hospital. He graciously complied with our request and donated this machine.”
Dr Dehalwar added, "Access to timely and accurate diagnostics can save lives, and this contribution brings this vital capability to Narmadapuram. It will undoubtedly reduce the burden of long-distance travel and contribute to better healthcare."
The formal inauguration of the new equipment took place on 16th of May 2025, in the presence of Member of Legislative Assembly, Dr. Sitasharan Sharma and Rajya Sabha Member Smt. Maya Naroliya alongside the representative of Syedna in Narmadapuram, Moiz Kanchwala, and other senior community members.
This contribution is part of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin’s efforts to strengthen public healthcare infrastructure in underserved areas. Recent efforts include the installation of a ventilator unit in Amravati, the provision of advanced medical equipment to hospitals in Jaora and Kolhapur, and the donation of specialized tools such as an ENT examining machine in Rajkot, a hemodialysis unit in Gondal, and a C-Arm machine in Bhinder, Rajasthan—all aimed at expanding access to crucial medical care for marginalised populations.Aligned with these efforts, Project Rise continues to promote equitable healthcare, inclusive education, and environmental conservation through community-driven partnerships and collaborations, striving to create a lasting positive impact across India and around the world.
