In his sermon delivered in Pratapgarh on 7th October, His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, highlighted the significance of the region’s rich natural heritage. He pointed out that the eco-tourism based on this natural environment serves as a platform for educating tourists and locals about the ecosystem, wildlife conservation and the need to maintain a harmonious relationship between nature and human activity.
Syedna drew attention to the nearby Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary, renowned for its over 130 diverse species and rich biodiversity.
Syedna further highlighted the exquisite art of Thewa, a Rajasthani jewellery tradition that has flourished for over 400 years. He elaborated on how artisans skillfully fuse real gold with multicoloured glass to create culturally significant jewellery pieces.
Syedna arrived in Pratapgarh on October 1st. During his visit, he presided over cultural programs, including a visit to the local community school. He also interacted with community members residing in various areas and inquired about their well-being. Thousands of community members from various parts of India and abroad, especially the UAE where there is a large diaspora originally from Pratapgarh, participated in the events.
