The 53rd leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin delivered a sermon today at Qadri Masjid to commemorate the death anniversary of the 40th al-Dai al-Mutlaq Syedna Hebatullah al-Moayyad who is buried at Mazaar-e-Najmi at Kamri Marg in Ujjain.
Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin recounted the noble virtues of Syedna Hebatullah al-Moayyad and how he worked tirelessly for the betterment of the community and society at large. He specifically mentioned one incident among others, of how Syedna al-Moayyad took it upon himself to provide drinking water by personally overseeing the cleaning and rejuvenation of a well that had fallen into disuse during a severe water shortage.
Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin also highlighted the strategic geographical location of Ujjain, emphasising its historical and cultural significance. He noted how the Sipra River, which flows through the city, serves as a symbolic divider between North and South India. He referenced Ujjain’s role as an important hub for trade and commerce throughout history.
While addressing over 30,000 community members who gathered in Qadri Masjid Complex and other community centres in the city, Syedna counselled them to inculcate the best characteristics, particularly to abstain from wrongdoing and to continue to serve humanity.
The Dawoodi Bohra community in Ujjain is a vibrant and active community dedicated to embracing modernity while staying true to its traditions. Over 10,000 community members reside in different areas of Ujjain like Kamri Marg, Nayapura, Taiyebpura, Namakmandi and Nagarchi. The community in the city is known for their strong entrepreneurial spirit and successful businesses in hardware, construction materials, foam, IT and allied services.
