A state-of-the-art nasopharyngoscope was donated by the leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin at Shree Panchnath Sarvajanik Hospital in Rajkot to upgrade medical infrastructure and enhance patient care. The opening ceremony for the new equipment was presided over by Shri Rambhai Mokariya, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Shri Rameshbhai Tilara, Member of Legislative Assembly, Rajkot and Saifuddin Bhabrawala, the representative of Syedna Saifuddin in Rajkot alongside various senior officials from the government.
The nasopharyngoscope is a piece of equipment that is crucial for examining the nasal passages, throat and voice box. Its cutting-edge technology allows for precise and comprehensive examinations, aiding healthcare professionals in accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment plans.
“Daily around 100 patients in neighbouring districts and towns of Rajkot such as Amreli, Junagadh, Jamnagar, Kutch, Porbandar, Veraval, Morbi and Surendranagar visit our Outpatient Department (OPD) for Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) check-ups. Out of these patients, over 50% undergo different procedures which a nasopharyngoscopy machine can perform,” shared Devang Mankad, President, Shree Panchnath Medical Hospital Trust.
“We are immensely grateful to Syedna for donating the nasopharyngoscope equipment to our hospital. This will significantly enhance our diagnostic capabilities, allowing us to provide even better healthcare services to the local communities,” Mankad added.
Saifuddin Bhabrawala, the representative of Syedna in Rajkot, said that during Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin’s recent visit to Rajkot, the hospital trust requested assistance for upgrading their ENT department. Syedna readily accepted the request and contributed to upgrading the hospital’s infrastructure by donating the equipment.
Syedna’s philanthropic efforts have consistently focused on initiatives that uplift communities, with healthcare being one of the key focus areas. Recently, Syedna also donated a hemodialysis machine in Gondal to provide access to high-quality healthcare services to patients.”
This contribution is part of the Dawoodi Bohra community’s global philanthropic initiative, Project Rise, which works toward improving the lives of underserved individuals through programs and interventions in five key areas – Nutrition, Water, Health and hygiene, Education and Environment.
