His Holiness Visits Barwani after 28 Years, Emphasis on Water Conservation

The Saifee Masjid in Barwani was packed to capacity on Wednesday, 10th May, as thousands of Dawoodi Bohra community members gathered in the complex to attend the sermon of their leader His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin.

While addressing over 10,000 community members, including those who had come from neighbouring towns and villages for the sermon, Syedna Saifuddin emphasised the value of water and the importance of preserving and conserving this precious natural resource. He used the analogy of the Narmada River, which is known as the ‘lifeline of both Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat’.

He advised community members to lead a life full of contentment and open-mindedness while maintaining peaceful coexistence with other members of society. He also counselled them to remain faithful citizens and always abide by the laws and regulations of the land in which they reside. Syedna ended his sermon while praying for peace and prosperity of the nation.

This is Syedna Saifuddin’s first visit to Bawani after acceding to the leadership of the community in 2014 – after the passing of his respected father, the late His Holiness Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin.

Ibrahim Rizvi, media coordinator of the Dawoodi Bohras in Barwani said, “We’re filled with joy and happiness upon the visit of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin after such a long time. Syedna Saifuddin’s father, the late Syedna Burhanuddin, had last visited Barwani in 1995.”

During his visit to Barwani, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin inaugurated the newly renovated Najmi Masjid and another Dawoodi Bohra Masjid in Barwani, named Ezzi Masjid. He also visited community members’ houses and inquired after their well-being.

Ibrahim Rizvi added, “We can’t explain in words how happy and fortunate we are to have hosted this historic visit of Syedna in Barwani. Not only community members in Barwani but from the neighbouring areas, including Dahi, Rajpur, Sendhwa and Thikri, have also joined the occasion. We’re grateful to the local authorities for their continued support and cooperation in hosting thousands of community members in Barwani.”

Syedna is currently visiting towns and villages in the Nimar region, spread across the South Western region of Madhya Pradesh. Before arriving at Barwani, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin also visited Indore, Betma, Kukshi and Dahi last week.
