The Festival of Friendship (FOF) is an annual initiative of the wider Asian community of Nairobi that embraces almost 20 smaller communities and brings them together through sports. The Dawoodi Bohras of Nairobi took part in this festival for the seventh year running.

In addition to inspiring a healthy lifestyle and encouraging community members to engage in sporting activities, FOF also serves as a platform for interfaith and cultural dialogue.

One of the organisers Mr Murtaza Badri said, ‘by being a part of calendar events like FOF, we not only play sports with other communities but also widen our business and social networks. Sports is a good way to bring unity.’

Community members participated in a variety of Indoor and outdoor games, claiming the runner up position in Box Cricket and first prize in the under 14 table tennis category.
