The Dawoodi Bohra community in New York organised a food drive, the proceeds of which were donated to Island Harvest, a food bank that serves the needy across Long Island in New York.

Over the last few weeks, members of the community dropped off food donations at the community’s center in Queens, which were collected and delivered to Island Harvest for distribution.

The drive was held as part of the 76th birthday celebrations of the Bohra community’s spiritual leader, His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS, who repeatedly emphasises the need to reach out and help the less fortunate members of society.
