Community members in Pune organised a free health check up camp on the 15th of July 2019. The camp was made possible by the efforts of more than 20 volunteers from the local Saifee Ambulance committee providing medical assistance to more than 576 people.
The camp provided a range of services at no cost. These included blood pressure tests, blood sugar level tests and eye check ups with the dispensation of free spectacles.
Doctors from within the community as well as Tarachand Hospital participated in the camp, offering consultation, diagnosis and expert advice on prevalent medical conditions.
As part of the broader Project Rise initiative by the Bohra community, similar medical camps regularly take place in Pune and elsewhere around the world. The aim of these camps is to democratise basic healthcare services so that more people can lead strong, healthy and productive lives.
