Community members distribute food packets among Karachi's less fortunate

After a long month of fasting, Eid is a much anticipated occasion. It marks the end of day long fasts, for Muslims around the world. Yet for some, the days of hunger do not end with the onset of Eid. For them, staying hungry throughout the day even after Ramadan is not a matter of choice but compulsion.

The Dawoodi Bohra community in Karachi made it a point to remember these less fortunate people during the Eid al-Fitr festival. Close to 300 food packets were prepared and distributed to impoverished slum dwellers in and around Karachi, to share the blessings of Eid.

Volunteers from the ‘Dana (grain) Committee’ of Karachi, oversaw the preparation and distribution of the meals.
