This was our first meeting with the President and our principal objective was to discuss the arrangements in preparation for Syedna’s proposed visit to Uganda for the inauguration of our new Masjid in Kampala. This meeting was also an opportunity to share with the President the vision that SyednaTUS has for Bohras residing in Uganda; aiming for working towards the betterment of humanity through hard work, discipline, and fidelity to the laws of one’s country of residence. Lastly, the present and future business interests of our local community in Uganda were also discussed in detail and drew the President’s attention.

The President was impressed by the beauty of our masjid architecture and praised the achievements made so far by our community members involved in business and manufacturing in particular. He expressed a strong interest in meeting SyednaTUS at the proposed opening of our masjid in April 2018 and further mentioned to all present and potential investors, “God bless you all”.

The Dawoodi Bohra community of Uganda offered to renovate, upon a suggestion from the President, the Gombe District Hospital, located in the Central Region of Uganda.

The Uganda Broadcasting Corporation praised the Dawoodi Bohras’ tireless efforts in contributing to the social and economic welfare of the country and the warm welcome they were afforded by the President.
