Communities prepare sandwiches in the Bohras' LA masjid complex

Sunday March 5th, 2017

Over 50 volunteers from various community groups came together at Masjid-e-Ezzi, the Bohra masjid at Woodland Hills in Los Angeles Sunday to make sandwich food packets for the homeless.

Jews from Temple Aliyah, Catholics from Saint Bernadine’s, members of the Pacific Lodge Youth Services and Bohras joined forces to make around 500 full meals including sandwiches of American favourite peanut butter and jelly (jam), an apple, bags of chips and bottled water.

Each brown bag was decorated by children with crayons and stickers and included a hand-written card by children with notes of encouragement and kind wishes.

Various food banks serving the homeless population in the area gave an estimate of how many meals they needed and these were then distributed by them to the homeless and the needy.
