The Dawoodi Bohra community in Fremont, California hosted a special gathering in celebration of the birthdays of the late His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed BurhanuddinRA and His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mufaddal SaifuddinTUS, also marking the 2nd the anniversary of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin’sTUS historic visit to California in 2015.

Attended by City Mayor Ms Lily Mei, City Council, police and fire officials, a member of the State Assembly, representatives from the offices of two United States Congressman, the Vice Consul of the Consulate of India, public school officials, parks officials, and many others, the event brought guests and community leaders together to celebrate and engage in dialogue.

The event started with traditional Indian chai (tea) and casual conversations, moving to a set of presentations aimed at fostering discussion, and ending with a program in which attendees expressed a shared imperative towards peace and meaningful community service projects.

“Friends, our gathering today reinvigorates Syedna Saifuddin’s TUS call -- one that unites us in a collective, unwavering commitment to peace, prosperity, and success for all,” said Mr. Tayeb Aamir, President and Aamil Saheb of the Dawoodi Bohra community of San Francisco.

He added, “As we celebrate and enjoy the pleasure of each others company today, let’s also take a moment to resolve -- to commit ourselves -- to deepening our ties, distancing ourselves from that which divides, and finding a shared purpose in uplifting humanity.”

Presenting a certificate to the community in recognition of its role in 'enhancing the brilliance of California's cultural diversity and economic vitality'; Ms Mei commended the community's contributions to the region and said she looked forward to welcoming His Holiness upon his next visit.
